About Rick McKiddy

I was raised to believe that we are here to serve others - a value that has guided my entire life.

I earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Wayne State University, as well as serving 30 years as a UAW negotiator and later as the North Region Executive Director for the Screen Actors Guild. Recently,

I have been working as a real estate broker here in our city, where I live with my wife, as does my son and his family. I have also been serving as a substitute teacher for the Utica Community Schools.

I look forward to continuing to serve our community and all of our residents here in Sterling Heights, on our City Council.

My Focus

Transparency in government

Serving you as a City Council member, I will work to make sure your government is not only working in your interest, but doing so openly and not behind closed doors.

Lowering taxes and being frugal

Not only are everyday costs going up for residents, but taxes have been too. I will work to lower our taxes, as well as make sure we are spending our money wisely to get as much as we can for our residents.

Safety and growth

I will work to not only support our police and fire departments in making sure they have the funding they need, but also ensure our residents have the resources they need. So that we can continue to grow and welcome the future generations of residents to our city.

Veterans and seniors

I always worked to support our Veterans and their families, and I want to continue that by expand the progaming available to them as well as to our seniors to make sure that Sterling Heights is an attractive place to live as well as a place that is supportive in there ability to age in thier own homes.
